Depending on the biotope that is going to be imitated the temperature has to be adjusted accordingly. If for instance a tropical mountain forest imitated, even cooling is necessary since the daytime temperature does not rise above 15°C.

Temperature control

Most often, the tropical rain forest imitation has an average daytime temperature of 27°C dropping to 20°C at night. During daytime hours, the lights will increase the temperature of the vivarium. A ventilator mounted in the hood blows the warm air from the lights against the front window.

Heating

In nighttime when the lights are off, the vivarium could cool off to room temperature. If this is below 20°C, things could get out off hands. Therefore, it is necessary to heat the vivarium with a waterproof heating element, which controls the water temperature to the desired value.
