A miniature tropical rain forest
in a country house.

Technique and material

This small patch of rain forest is visible from three sides: the central hall, the kitchen and the bathroom. Our latest techniques and materials are applied to this built-in vivarium. We use our Cocos Panels for the padding of the walls to facilitate abundant plant growth. The lighting unit consists of Dulux lights for plant growth, UV lights for the health of the animals and night-lights for a moonlit atmosphere at night.

A submerged water pump provides water for waterfalls and automatically moisturises the Cocos Panels. An external pump filled with carbon guarantees clear water.

A reversed osmosis system purifies tap water. This osmosis water is added to the rain forest automatically by a fully automated system if the water level threatens to drop below a specified level. In case of failure of this system an overflow pipe will prevent the water from running over.
